bridal shower #1 - 6/16/01 in Newton, MA
Beth's good friend, Risa Delong, hosted a surprise bridal shower for Beth in her home on Saturday, 6/16/2001. Some of Beth's closest friends and family members flew in from out of town to attend this girls-only event!
Everyone managed to keep it a total surprise for Beth. Here's how we did it. Risa sent Beth and I a "20th wedding anniversary" invitation that was going to be at Risa's house. When the day came, I drove us over to the party knowing full well that it was actually a party in Beth's honor and not an anniversary party at all.
It appeared we were the first ones there, as there weren't any cars in the driveway. So Beth barged in the front door yelling "Where's the bride!?" meaning Risa. Well, much to her surprise, all of her friends were there blowing horns and clapping for her. She was totally surprised! I didn't think we could pull it off because Beth usually catches on to these things pretty quickly.
I was immediately ordered out of the house so they could "party". I know some of the things that happened, and quite frankly, don't want to know the rest - if you know what I mean.
