how we met
Beth was the HR Director who did Paul's exit interview when he left Perot Systems Corporation
in October, 2000. After spending over an hour together during our meeting, it was clear that a mutual attraction existed
between the two of us. Who would make the first move? After Paul left, Beth spent a few days working
up her nerve to call him and ask him on a date. Just as she was about to summon up her courage and call,
an email appeared in her inbox from Paul asking her to dinner as thanks for the help she'd given him
during his exit process from Perot Systems.
Fast-forward one week to November 1, 2001: One new outfit for Beth, one flower arrangement and dinner reservation
made by Paul at the Colonial Inn in Concord, and one amazing
first date later, the die was cast. It was, as the fairy tales tell it, a classic case of "love at first sight"
after that initial date. By the time Thanksgiving arrived just a few weeks later, we were already planning to
spend our lives together.
