the inn at castle hill
Secluded beyond the ornamental iron gates of the Crane Estate and nestled at the foot of Castle Hill is the Inn itself. Renovated in the late 1990's as a designer show house, the Inn at Castle Hill is a center for retreat and relaxation as well as for embarking on an exciting day's journey. Walk to Crane's Beach. Take tea on the veranda. Enjoy a glass of wine aside a glowing fire. Gaze across the spectacular coastline. Or read quietly upon a sun-bathed window seat.
All the rooms at the Inn are uniquely appointed and many feature stunning views over the salt marshes, sand dunes, and Atlantic Ocean. Though no two rooms are alike, all promise a great night's sleep and the excitement of waking up in the magical world that is Castle Hill.
Beyond the Crane Estate, activities invite both the adventurous and retiring. Paddle a kayak through streams and rivers or embark on a fishing or whale-watching excursion. Hike the Bay Circuit Trail, visit nearby villages and town centers like Gloucester and Newburyport, or shop for that special antique. Visit a museum or a quaint gallery of fine arts or stop in at one of the area's local farm stands. Whatever your pleasure, you'll find it here.
